Winnecunnet Lake
Winnecunnet Lake is the only large natural body of water in Norton. Winnecunnet, an Indian word, is said to mean "the place of black geese." In the 1930's and 1940's, people from the cities would park along Bay Road to enjoy a day of swimming and boating. Lankey Reinhard ran a very popular ice cream stand, the Arrowhead.
