The Chartley Ice Company
>The Chartley Pond ice harvesting operation was begun by Oliver Lane. The Chartley Ice Company delivered ice in any part of Norton and Mansfield at reasonable rates. The company had three ice wagons for delivering. Later, the company was owned by Fred Roach and then the Attleboro Ice Company. The icemen would deliver blocks of ice to households.
