Winnecunnet Lake
Winnecunnet is an Indian word meaning "the place of black geese." It's the large natural body of water in Norton. During the winter this lake is quite active with people ice fishing and ice-boating. Lawrence "Lanky" Reinhard, who lives on Bay Road across from the lake, was one of the local men who spent many hours ice boating on the lake in the 1940's and 1950's when the ice boats were made of wood.
